In gay terms....
Bear: A hairy, usually older, mostly sporting a belly or muscles... gay male... usually saying things like "Grr" and "Woof"
Cub: A hairy, usually younger, sometimes sporting a belly... gay male... usually saying things like "where's my bear-like boyfriend?"
Otter: A hairy, usually younger, thinner... gay male... usually longs to be a cub/bear, but has a high metabolic rate that prevents him from getting a belly.
